The problem
An animal may have an RFID tag, a health history, operational records and, in the future, monitoring devices. In practice, this information rarely lives in the same place.
Spreadsheets, field notebooks, isolated systems and loose photos. Each source tells part of the animal's story — none tells the whole story.
Swapped ear tags, divergent readings and unrecorded movements make it hard to answer with confidence: is this really the right animal?
When the creditor cannot verify the collateral — origin, date, audit trail and the very existence of the animal — they price in the doubt. Fragile evidence becomes higher interest or denied credit.
How it works
Each step strengthens the animal's identity with a new layer of evidence — from the ear-tag reading to a herd ready to back financial operations.

The team records RFID readings and day-to-day events in OPJ_app, built for limited connectivity.

Each animal receives a canonical identifier that unifies tags, readings and histories — even when identifiers change.

At moments that require confirmation, the Muzzle API compares the unique muzzle pattern and adds biometric evidence to the record.

Events, documents and verifications accumulate in a timeline with origin, date and owner.

On this foundation the origination dossier is assembled: guarantee lot, versioned documentation and audit trail — the package that supports the producer's CPR issuance and registration through the competent channels.
Ecosystem
Each component plays a specific role and integrates with the others through secure contracts — none depends on another to operate in its own domain.
Daily operation and RFID
Field app for daily animal management: RFID reading, data collection and offline operation with later synchronization.
On-demand biometric verification
A separate muzzle biometrics service, queried when needed to support identification or identity confirmation of the animal.
Records, evidence, audit and monitoring
The manager's and the client's environment: canonical animal records, consolidation of events and evidence, monitoring and future controlled collateralization and CPR processes.
Independent components, integrated by secure contracts: each evolves at its own pace without compromising the others.
Benefits
Manager
Identity, events and evidence for every animal in one place, with an organized history.
Field team
Fast recording in the corral and on pasture, built for limited connectivity.
Bank, fund or family office
Standardized origination dossiers, monitored collateral and verifiable environmental evidence — a defensible basis for credit analysis and green mandates.
Operation
Event history and structured handling of identity and record conflicts.
Trust and governance
The platform treats identity as accumulated evidence — never as a single reading or a single algorithm.
Unique pattern per animalEach animal has a unique, stable identifier, independent of tag or device changes.
RFID and other identifiers are recorded with their period of use — nothing is overwritten.
Every piece of evidence keeps who recorded it, when, and from which source.
Identity discrepancies are routed to human analysis, with the decision recorded.
Relevant actions generate immutable audit records.
Each profile sees and does only what its role allows, with isolation per client and farm.
Muzzle biometrics is an additional piece of identity evidence — a decision aid. It does not replace the other records nor does it, on its own, constitute automatic legal proof.
Origination · CPR · Collateral
The herd is a real economic asset. When every animal has a verified identity, an auditable history and continuous monitoring, it can support credit operations as credible collateral. Producers have already issued physical CPRs and financial CPRs (CPR-F) backed by cattle, with specialized legal structuring and registration through the competent channels; Muzzle organizes the identity, the evidence and the dossier of these operations. Full automation inside the platform — from registration to third-party position tokenization — remains under validation.
From the verified animal to the settlement of the note: the same flow supports physical CPR (delivery) and financial CPR (cash settlement).

Animals identified by RFID and biometrics, with independent inspection and dated evidence.

Selection of eligible animals and composition of the guarantee, with monitored values.

Operation terms, appraisal and documentation prepared with legal support.

The producer issues the CPR and the parties sign using the required method.

The note is registered with the competent registrar — a condition for the applicable effects.

Coverage, substitutions, alerts and an audit trail throughout the entire term.
Settlement by delivery of the cattle according to the agreed specification, weight, deadline and location, with inspection and acceptance.

Cash settlement, with direct payment between the parties through banking channels and proof of discharge.

Settlement completed: registration discharged and collateral released.
A controlled flow to compose guarantee lots, gather documentation and support the producer's issuance and the CPR's registration through the competent channels — with the applicable approvals and validations at each step.
If the parties so decide, the registered CPR can be tokenized by an appointed third party and integrated with partner marketplaces and wallets. Muzzle does not issue tokens nor custody keys; the token does not replace the legal registry nor transfer ownership by itself.
Coverage, inclusion, substitution and release of animals with explicit controls, alerts and an audit trail — the creditor follows the collateral throughout the entire operation.
Architecture prepared for connection with financial institutions, registrars and custodians, according to agreements, homologations and the applicable legal regime.
Availability subject to operational and legal validation and to the applicable integrations.
Measured regeneration
The market is full of self-declared “regenerative”. For Muzzle, an asset only carries that attribute when there is a locked baseline, an approved methodology, results measured at animal and lot level and independent verification — with the evidence attached to the asset itself.
In Kenya, Maasai communities gather the herd at night inside mobile corrals — the bomas. The planned impact of dung, urine and hoofprints turns degraded soil into fertile patches of pasture. Muzzle proposes this ancestral practice, with planned placement and georeferenced records of each boma, as a candidate soil-regeneration methodology — measurable spot by spot, animal by animal.
Genetic improvement projects in Kenyan communities point to the second path: more productive animals shorten cycles and reduce emissions per unit produced. When that gain is causally linked to animal-level measurement, avoided carbon emissions become demonstrable — a possible certification model Muzzle follows as a reference.
The starting point of the soil and the herd is recorded and frozen before any claim.
Planned bomas, management and protocols defined and versioned — no vague practices.
Productivity, regenerated area and environmental indicators measured at the unit, not in the average of the narrative.
Third parties verify the result; the evidence is attached to the asset with hash and date.
When environmental performance is measured, it can become a clause: green CPRs and structures with verifiable environmental covenants, where conditions follow the proven result.
Green eligibility depends on a locked baseline, approved methodology and independent verification — structures under operational and legal validation.

FAQ
No. RFID remains the day-to-day operational identifier. Muzzle biometrics comes in as additional evidence when identity needs to be confirmed — the two complement each other.
Yes. OPJ_app was designed for the reality of the field: records are made locally and synchronized when a connection is available.
No. The biometric result is a decision aid. Discrepancies and sensitive cases are routed to human review, and the decision is recorded in the audit trail.
The CPR is issued by the producer, with specialized legal structuring and registration through the competent channels. Operations with physical CPRs and financial CPRs (CPR-F) backed by cattle have already been structured and issued this way. Muzzle organizes the identity, the evidence and the origination dossier of these operations; full automation inside the platform — issuance, registration and third-party position tokenization — remains under operational and legal validation.
No. Muzzle originates and monitors: identity, diligence, documentation and collateral tracking. Issuance belongs to the producer; registration, distribution and eventual tokenization happen through the competent channels and, when the parties so decide, through an appointed third party. Muzzle is not an issuer, custodian or broker.
A measured result, not an adjective: locked baseline, approved methodology — such as the planned, Maasai-inspired bomas —, measurement at animal and lot level and independent verification, with the evidence attached to the asset.
The architecture was prepared to evolve and accept new identification and monitoring devices, subject to the evaluation and validation of each integration.
